Any body know if Scotts makes a sub (below the bar) mount for the 05 berg? Will a KT****inM fit??

Bobzilla

I haven't mounted a sub, but I have mounted a GPR 2.0 which needs another 5/16 spacer to clear the steering stem nut. I would almost think the sub mount might have the same clearance issues.

However, a friend mounted his new GPR on his 550 and used an old 03 steering stem nut, which does not have a crown.

try protect enduro concepts.

they make great mounts for KTM and for Huskys. I bet the KTM mount works perfect for the Berg. e mail them , talk with Robin Cloutier or her husband. they are great customer service people and make great products.

The above exchange is what is so cool about the internet. (oh yea, **** too)

Fastway has that mount fer yer Scott dampner
KTM UBM's will not work on a Husaberg, at least the newer 'Bergs.
For sure not Fastway's set up--I tried it. The steering stem nut sticks up farther than on a KTM. Not even close.

If you are mounting a damper the regular way, then yes the KTM stuff will work

I'll endorse BigBob on his Protect recommendation. They machined up one to suit my 98 501 with a few pics and some dimensions for the same price as an off the shelf one, my height and offset specs and it fits perfectly. IWILL update my gallery soon.

All of this was done via email and delivery to OZ was dead easy, great product, great service, very fair (cheap?) price.

Yes bob I believe they do. When I got my 04 I was going to use a Scott's under bar mount, and the only reason I didn't is b/c my bike came with an FS front brake line, just a wee bit shorter than the FE, and the extra height wouldn't work with the too short brake line. So, I went with the regular option. I fully intend in the near future to put an under bar mount on my bike, as I once caught the dampner in my throat on my 01. Hurt like heck, and couldn't swallow right for a few weeks.

Anyway, call Scott's @ 818-248-2453 and talk with Eric Vargo. Tell him Dale Covington reff you, he should be able to help you out.

Not as good as Scotts but advertised as being for Husaberg:

Why do you say this Froggy? Have you mounted and tested both Scotts and GPR units to come to this conclusion? Hmmmmmm.

The Scotts damper has several important features that are lacking in the GPR, such as: no damping back to center; separate low speed and high speed damping controls; and adjustable sweep.

I was referring to Bob saying a KTM ubm would work on a 'Berg. Guess I quoted the wrong post.

Your mount is under the bar? Wonder why they say they don't make one for a Husaberg when you call them? Maybe you got connections. Can you post a pic?
Thanks
