hello all,
my 2000 fc501 has a small issue with the clutch i am not sure if this is normal or not but when u nail it hard in a tall gear it's like the clutch flares alittle bit and then grabs. this ismore noticeable on the bitchumen road it doesnt flare heaps just a little for a second or two. i have done 500 kms and it hasn' really changed or gotten worse is this normal?
btw. the plates have been inspected and measure up within specification, perhaps the springs are becoming weak?

you can measure the length of the springs for weakness. basically they get shorter as they get older. fact is though that that slipping IS wrecking your plates so they will soon be out of spec if you continue!

check the condition of your plates for high and hot spots, check spring length and then make a decision to replace EVERYTHING at once!!!!!!

regards

Taffy
