I need help. I dont know what to do.

My 2011 Husaberg Fe570 was stolen last night. I contacted the Police department and they told me to make a claim. Contact the insurance company and they wont cover it.

I really am at a lose here. Please help. If you see the bike or find it online please contact the Elk River Police department. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have never had a vehicle stolen before.

Anyone know if Home insurance would cover it? Being it was in a closed shed on the property?

I check online and some say it could.

Had my $7000 bicycle stolen off of the back of my car and insurance did cover it. With my home insurance. After it was all done got back $5500 better then nothing??

my home owners insurance company said they wont cover it because it has wheels. And can be insured through auto insurance.

stop talking to the insurance company and contact a lawyer. Really, you'll end up giving unanticipated ammunition to the insurance company. Likely it will be recovered since it's rare and too easy to spot. I really hope you get her back

One good thing is that it will be a hard bike to unload, just too few out there to go unnoticed. I did some research when I moved into my house (first one purchased) and the homeowners insurance stated that orv/mc aren't covered, so I purchased an insurance policy for the bikes. A lawyer might be able to do some digging to see if you have a chance.

Post your bike on as many sites as possible. Try vintagemx.us, as an example, and vinduro. And as many Facebook sites as possible. A couple of years ago some vintage bikes were stolen in Topeka Kansas, and a vintagemx.us member spotted them on Craigslist in Dallas. The owner had to drive to Dallas in order to get the police to do anything, but they did accompany him to the address where the bikes were, and he got them back.

Good luck. Any theft is hard to take, but losing something as personal and valuable as your bike has to be tough!

Well worth a hun bux to check policy with legal rep. I think this is a awesome idea. I am sure we will all keep our eyes open in local papers and if someone starts selling parts on ebay.
It is a shame we have people who do this, but it happen all to much. I really hope you find it and more so the sob who took it. Keep good thoughts and maybe it will show up.

We actually found the bike on Craigslist for sale!

But the cops wont do anything about it!

And they don't want me to try and buy the bike back!

WTF do I do!

Please this is very real. I am freaking out over this. Nothing has gone right.

If you know it's your bike, take it for a test ride and never return.

If you have documentation with the VIN, verify the VIN on the CL bike. If they match, then let the thief know you have to think about it and will call them back later.

Then drive to the police station and report that you have verified the VIN to be yours. They have to act.

Good luck

Crystal meth heads aren't known for being smart. I'm from northern Minnesota, and saw the writing on the wall about 15 years ago. I'll take California cannabis consumers anyday!
As far as recovery,I like the test ride idea - just disappear. You can prove its yours.
That being said, based on the circumstances,I'd take the bike and kick his ***!
I know that's not p.c. But there is a time and place for everything. There are lots of woods where your at.
Took balls to steal a Berg up there, you must have the only one. Good luck.

arrange to see it, throw a big fat disc lock on it along with a chain lock through the wheels while you are checking the bike out. Have your buddies show up with a truck, load said bike when they arrive.

Then call your local representative and have that police cheif's ***! Unreal!

Unfortunately, The poster of the ad arnt responding. So there isnt much I can do.

I cant believe how powerless we are. Cops cant do anything. We cant do anything. Craigslist protects their precious thieves because they are their bread and butter.

Why the heck do we pay insurance and obey the laws? They do nothing for us. Really feel like this country is designed for the scum. And all you can do is hope the scum of this world docent target you.

But company's are happy to take your money for this false security.

Sorry just feeling kinda down. Had to unload a little.

If it has a title HO Insurance typically will not cover it. They will cover golf carts, riding lawn mowers, and snowmobiles (sleds do not have titles in Washington State).

I agree with the above posts, its a rare enough bike that it will turn up.

Good luck friend.

I have heard that the pictures have embedded information that can help you identify the address of the poster something with the IP. Look into it good luck when you find it take it back its yours it doesn't matter if someone bought it from the guy who stole it.

Hey guys, just wanted to give you all an update.

So the cops took some time tracking the information down. They found where the bike was stored and "Think" they know who stole it. One is in jail and the other is on the run.

But, no bike. Cops think the guy on the run has it or they got rid of it. Not looking good.

I got a little bit of information. Supposedly the bike was stored at by a shed near or in a trailer park in Monticello, MN.

idk. Starting to lose hope. Was thinking the bike was such a unique bike it would be easily spotted. Seems that's not the case.

Also, I am actually considering suing my insurance company. Turns out I had full coverage on the bike because I was worried about theft. However, after talking to my insurance agent. I asked him shouldn't the home owners cover theft from the property and he said it would cover it. The difference between the full and Liability wasn't much so I simply wanted to be assured about the theft.

Leading me to ultimately switch to liability because I was only using the bike for trails. I only needed some kind of insurance to running between trails here.

Please guys keep an eye out for this bike. Its possible the guy on the run is out side state line trying to sell it. Or it might be possible it be parted out.

Considering the parts on the bike it should be very easy to spot.

Thanks ahead of time guys

Sorry. What a bunch of bs. Maybe you should post the vin number,so we know which bike we're looking for. A buddy of mine recently recovered his stolen 2013.5 KTM Dungey replica from the Anaheim PD after being stolen and missing for several months. Amazingly, the bike came back in one piece,in good shape. The thief had put about 20 hours on it. The ******* had ground the vin number off the frame, but left the limited edition badge number on the frame. It was bike number xxx of 500,so when the PD recovered it,they went to a KTM dealer and inquired using the limited edition badge number. So it came back to its rightful owner. Crazy. If it weren't for the l.e. badging, who knows. They had also mucked up the engine vin.
I know this is a rare case, but it shows anything can happen.
The theif had been involved in some sort of powersports theft crime ring.
In this case the thief has been brought to justice, and I don't think it ended well for him. Stay with it.
