Hello, I want to replace the starter of my 400 FE 2002 by a starter of R6. Can you tell me which model of R6 starter I need to install? Do you have to make other modifications: cables, battery, ....
 
a starter change is a step forward, but is not the whole solution. read the owners doc in resources, engine mods

the 400 doesn't need the R6 starter motor. you won't feel any difference at all. it is models up to 2005-2006 that you want.

Ok I read somewhere that it could help
No problem with kick start when the bike is hot but impossible to get it started with the electrical starter, the battery seems to be OK
 
its probably your jetting and ignition timing. Taffmeisters have on facebook several photos of how and why you need to re-mark the flywheel and time it with a strobe. The carb is a major issue with them. even 1/4 of a turn of the pilot screw renders a bike "unstartable". You need our "easy start" kit and preferably with a bar mounted choke.
