i need yet another sprague bearing just 10-20 hours after the last one!

anyone tell me how long theirs lasted and any cures you may have?

i get the feeling that the i/d of the gear is too big or something is up.

any measurements for the i/d?

i laid the bike on it's side to wash it and now i just get the 'follow through' noise.

Taffy,
I replaced my sprague clutch about 5-6 months ago. It was great, I would even occasionally start the bike cold. Now it slips when cold or just warm but fires up ok when hot. Probably another 6 months and it will have to be replaced.

I know there are a lot of guys with my model bike (03 501) that have used the estart hot or cold from new.

The tolerances on the inner & outer drums for the sprague clutch are one possibility but no doubt there are a lot of aspects that affect the load on the estart.

For what its worth I checked the 04 part numbers against KTM parts and didn't get a match so it seems KTM use a different sprague clutch or system.

twist

i can definately vouch for that. i've been sent a KTM one by a husey/katoom dealer two years ago. he was so bloody cocksure that he was on a winner! the KTM one is a lot larger if i remember correctly. no wonder husey don't copy this time as you can't get a *** paper around the outside of the gear.

sprag

I wish all you guys that post would let people know what model and year as I have 4 with none of the problems you all seem to have. I have none no later than 1998.

corona

i've now got my bike showing in my signature.

i wish everyone would say where they come from! especially when they say "where can i buy .......!"

regards

Taffy
