spoke sets fitting excel rims?

Hi,

As far as I am concerned Excel uses little different spoke holes on their rims.Many stores and dealers recommend using only OEM or Excel spoke sets(actually nipples) on excel rims.But I want to use a SS spoke set on my wheel rebuild.Does anyone know if Moose spoke set (for KTM) fits excel rims?Any other recommendations are welcome.
 
I can not say on your rebuild of the wheel, but I have used Excel rims and SS spokes on a Honda CR250R and just starting the front wheel on a Husaberg FC550 2001. All the KTM shops I have talked with said pre 08 KTM rim/spokes would work on the 2001 Husaberg.

Here the info on the Husaberg 2001 front spokes, hi content of SS, angle of bend about 20,lenght both sides 234mm, dia at either end 5mm then tepers down to 4.5mm, threads 4.5-75 pitch.

I know this does not help alot but I will send you as much info I can when the new parts come in.

I would hold off for the Excel rim and Excel spoke set.

I am on 3rd wheel rebuild (Excel rim,spokes), the first 2 where Honda CR250r, Honda service manual had the spec distance from disk mount surface to edge of rim. On Husaberg FC2001 (front wheel) I can not find this spec, but after 3 different methods of measuring I have come up with 24.5mm. This distance is to insure the rim is inline with center of the motorcycle to back wheel.

Does anyone know if this 24.5mm is truely correct?

Update on wheel rebuild, well Excel SS spoke/nipple set for pre 08 KTMs is different, but not by much.
Husaberg FC550 2001 front spoke 23.5cm length, 4mm (8ga) tappered to 3.5 (9ga) back to 4mm (8ga), 20mm threaded end.
KTM 250 SXF 2006 front spokes, 23.7cm length , 3.5 dia (9ga) complete lenght of spoke, 17mm threaded end.

Angle and bend location the same, but because of the KTMs longer spoke and shorter thread end, the nipple wiil bottom out leaving no more adjustment.

After talking with Excel and Buckman Spoke and Rims Inc DO NOT mix and match spokes and nipples of different brands, I can tell you that the spoke and nipples will seam to work but the nipples will pull off at some time.

So at this time working with Buckman for a set of SS spokes and nipples, Execl does not make a set for Husaberg.

I will up date you when I get Buckman set in.
