Hello all

Does anyone know what is the problem with spares in Australia at the moment, I have had a cooling fan on order since the end of August and now I am waiting on a sleeve, piston kit and gasket kit since the 2nd week of October.
The story I have been given is the fan and the gasket kit are on back order but the sleeve and piston kit are in transit but they don't know where exactly.
Since I purchased this bike back in July I have placed three orders, all of which I have waited for weeks or are still waiting.
As a first time Husaberg owner it has not filled me with confidence for being a long term Husaberg owner, I hope someone can shed some light on this situation as at this rate I will have to learn how to ride again

I'm getting bored more and more each day!

call KTM/HUSABERG direct ... they are based in welshpool WA .

if you are serious , pm me for ph numba and who to contact

Don't bother. Best to organize to buy overseas. It will be a lot cheaper. Same people in WA responsible for KTM.

agree on getting your parts elsewhere .

disagree on '' don't bother '' .

call these people and tell them to get their act together , they are supposed to provide a service . the service is a supplier of spare parts .

i know of people who are and have waited and waited ...

!

Suprised they dont have a gasket kit in stock.....have to be some on dealers shelves somewhere in Aus??.

Last I knew the aftermarket Wossners (8551 DA/DB/DCs) were all in stock in Aus...did you ever check on using one and a recoated liner??

I learnt a long time ago to avoid the KTM/Husaberg parts supply as much as possible, unless parts are in stock. Backorder sucks.

RE: Re: Spares hold up in Australia

i would be looking for alternatives...

RE: Re: Spares hold up in Australia

KTM austria is in the process of building a new larger parts distribution centre near the factory. The have made it known that they have far outgrown their present location. For the record ,they have publicly stated they are sorry for the present parts backlog wordwide. They expect to be in full operation at the new locatation before the end of the year.

It doesn't look the USA riders have the same problems as we AUS riders. I suspect our problem is a local problem.

You are not on your own Tom.
It took over two weeks to get an oil filterand speedo cable recently. I have had a clutch cover gasket on order for over 5 weeks now - still no sign of it.
Kick start on order for over 5 weeks - stll hasnt arrived. So at least theyare consistent.

Funny how I can get the abovementioned parts for my other bikes overnight no problem at all.

You got to wonder how serious they are about sellng Husabrg in Au

I usually ring all the dealers they are listed on the Au husaberg website. Usually someone has what i need in stock other wise i cross reference and use ktm part.

Ring around to get your bits

BINGO - I waited 3 weeks for a countershaft to get to my HGB dealer only to hear from a mate who worked at another HBG dealer that he had one in stock the whole time.

This indicates to me that they don't have an integrated online parts solution Australia wide. This being the case, if you want the parts you need to ring around to get them. Check the web page for Aussie dealers - I use Andrew & Ritchie at Valley Force in Lilydale - they know their stuff and are good blokes.

Good luck !

Ditto, everything I've ever needed I've found at a local dealer somewhere. I stock normal consumables in the shed at home like wheel bearings, brake pads, tappet cover gaskets, c/s seals, air filters, clutch cover gaskets, oil filters (10 at a time from Ballards) etc beacuse its always at the weekend you want them and I'm in the bush.

If going os, some of the Yanks seem helpful, like Dan at Motoexotica and Kurt at Bikebarn etc

G'Day Tim,
Why don't you try a ring around and see if you can locate the parts yourself like these other guys do. Or have you already done that ? Might speed things up a bit mate !
Cheers :D

Hey Cafey

Looks like I don't need to worry about fixing the bike as Husaberg is going to give me one of the new 09 models as a show of good will for my troubles. LOL

Seriously I spoke to Husaberg Australia on Monday and guess what they are covering it under their goodwill warranty but had some technical issues before they could approve it.
Anyway they told me the parts were being sent today (Monday) and apologized for all the trouble, they also stated the cooling fan shipment was in and it would be sent also.

Talk about me being the meat in the sandwich if only this info had be told to me from the start I would not have been left with such a bad experience, lets hope it is all over now

See ya at the next meeting

Yeh how good do the new Bergs look hey !!! Would be very nice of them to give you one. Ha ha.
Well that's all good news mate, I'm very glad to hear it. There seems to be a bit of a lack of communication between Husaberg Australia and the dealers ? Hope they get that all sorted out !
You might want to put a switch in the cooling fan line as I did to help stop flat batteries. Have a look at mine next time.
OK mate see you next Wednesday at the meeting.
Cheers :D
Garry.
