Hello there!

I managed to completely ruin my Rocketarm cover and timing sprocket when adjusting some valves since the lockbolt managed to make it's way into my timing chain.

And since spare parts are hard to come by I'd like to get replacements if I can not repair the cover.

I was only able to find a 2001 Husaberg FE 501 for spare parts whilst having a 2000 myself, thus I am wondering:

Will a timing sprocket from 2001 Husaberg FE 501 fit in a 2000 Husaberg FE 501?
I was also wondering considering the Rocketarm cover. Will that one fit from 2001 to 2000?
I am looking for spare parts is why. The sprockets look the same (still not sure though) but the rocketarm cover has the "Crankcase Ventilation Sleeve" - As it says in the 2001 spare parts manual - or the "Radiator House Connection" - As it says in the 2000 spare parts manual - in different places. They do however look like they have the exact same function, which I would guess is cooling?
Will the 2001 be able to replace the 2000 parts without issues?

I could of course also consider other option that you might have! ;)

The 2001 timing sprocket is aluminum and is not very durable. I think the best choice is a 2004-2008 steel sprocket. Use the 04-08 sprocket bolts too as they are shorter. I put a KTM RFS cam in my 97 600 along with the 04-08 cam sprocket. I had to flip the cam sprocket over as it is "handed" to get the correct cam chain alignment as the KTM cam was a little longer (at the water pump area) but matched up perfectly with the rocker arm roller bearings.

If it were me I would want the 2004-2008 rocker arm cover along with the 04-08 rocker arms as it was a significant update.

The big update is the 04-08 autodecompression device. Let me restate that, it was a huge huge update.

Check with Taffmeisters as Taffy will be able to advise you (and sell you) exactly what you will need.

When mixing and matching parts know going in that you may be stuck with a part that does not fit and you may have spent more money than you wanted to. The nice thing is the 2004-2008 parts are still mostly available.

I don't spend enough time on this site to be up on what fits what anymore but when I am up against a challenge I go back and reread as much as I can about a particular issue and then ask for help.

There are some extremely knowledgeable people on this site but it helps to put the effort in first by reading the older posts.

When I put the KTM cam in I also ordered the KTM cam chain sprocket. I jumped the gun when I ordered the KTM sprocket as I thought it should probably fit. It didn't.

As I am thinking a bit about this the water pump was moved to the lower engine case on the 01 so you will probably need a 2000 or earlier rocker arm cover.

Hej.
From -96 to -00 the rockerarm cover seems to be the same in the Parts manual 2000.
By a coincidence i have one from a -96 501 ;-)

the 2000 and 2001 rocker covers are different.

2000 = water pump drive on the end of the cam
2001 = water pump drive is on the left cover
