I used the old bearing innerrings of the balancer.
So far so good

!!!!!!!!!!!! EXPLAIN i am a little confused about the balancer where does it live ?under the piston but above the crank?ps i also dont like the fact that the cam runs from the balancer not the crank ,probably a jap hanguop!!!!!!!!!!!!

Counterbalancer runs on the crankshaft and is driven by an auxillary shaft. Auxillary shaft is driven by the clutch basket. Auxillary shaft also drives the cam chain.

I would manufacture a ring that was at least the same outer diam as the flange of the inner ring so that the spacer would support the complete flange. if you are using roller bearings.

Ditto for the OD.

Width (if you are using std 16mm wide mains) is in my gallery:

Or if you are using a 20mm wide main have a good look in weeds gallery.

Hope some of thats useful :)

????
Youve lost me.

That pic shows the width of the counter balancer bearings- 5.98mm x 2= 11.96mm
- what am I missing ??

Isnt that what your after??

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: spacer ring width

well i've been confused... which i know isn't rare but please barte with me...

the 61905 bearing in the doc is down as 25mm ID and 9mm wide. so two of them would make 18mm. so i've just been out to the garage and found the spacer which i never thought i would as a neuclear device has gone off in there. it measures 30mm ID and 12mm wide. i then walk back to the 'puter and find you've been here in the intervening 10 minutes!

the parts diagram shows a circlip and a washer but given that i once measured all this up i'll shut up and accept that it's 12mm.

thanks ausberg!

there is no exact spacer width taffy.
it depends on what clearance you give the conrod between the 2 halves of the crank when you press it together, as well as the clearance you choose as the correct crank end float(which is debatable) as we have discussed.
on mine the spacer ended up 8.39mm ,but i set crank end float to .2mm & .65mm clearance between the conrod & crank halves.
i said in the caption i my gallery 8.5mm but that is a guide only, remembering mine has the 20mm drive side bearing in.
..weed..

You need about 12-12.2mm space for the counterbalancer weight and therefore that is about what your spacer width would be. Usually you would shim from there.

All the best,
Simon

Spacer.

Hi.
If you remove the balancer the use the SKF NJ2206ECP/C3 and a spacerring depending on what axial freeplay you want.
Bearing NJ2206 is 20mm and spacer 7.5-8.2mm
Bearing NJ206ECP/C3 is 16mm and spacer 11.5-12.2mm.
You have to messure with indicatorclock or caliper.

Cut away the sprocket on the balancer drive shaft and us the wide bearing.

Thomas
