Boy, I'm having no luck this week!
Snapped my gear lever on Wednesday, got it welded-up and re-fitted, changed the oil and cleaned the air filter ready or the weekend.
Went out to the track on Sunday and one of the header pipes snapped!
Looking from the front, it's the left hand side pipe.
It's snapped about an inch and a half down from the flange which bolts to the head, clean break all the way round.
Looks quite close to the transition from the straight section onto the curve, so could be that an original weld has gone.
Thought the valves had gone and that the engine was about to blow up when it snapped as it was making a horrible noise and I feared the worst!
Was relieved to find out that it was 'only' the exhaust.
Luckily, there's an exhaust fabricator local to me who can weld titanium.
Looking to re-weld the pipe at the break and reinforce it by using a sleeve across the welded joint.
Hopefully have her together again this weekend.
Oh the joys!
