Anyone know where I can buy a new float for my 2002 FX650 delortto? there are two separate floats and one of them leaks around the seam. Tried to seal it but no luck. All the dealers here in New Zealand come back with "sorry unavailable" Pretty sure it's the cause of the hard starting! Oh, while I'm asking (wrong forum I know) the original owner removed the starter motor and battery box, are they available at a resonable price?

Check here:

I think that part #12 is what you are looking for. Dellorto only seems to have 3 different floats, and only one of them is a double assembly, part number 12630.

http://www.dellorto-carbs.co.uk/parts.php lists it as a VHSB carb part but I would not be surprised if it fitted a PHM 40. They also list part # 7450-3, but these seem to be singles.

Anyway, if you call and ask for a "2002 Husaberg carburetor float", most vendors will tell you they have no clue. If you ask for the float for a PHM 40, you should find it.

ducman,

Try contacting these guys HERE. They might be able to get you on the correct path. They have an extensive inventory of Dellorto carbs and parts but I didn't see anything about floats. I would give them a call and see if they can help you out.

Regards,

Thanks for the help guy's much appreciated. It's a PHM 40 with 2 separate floats.

Hi ducman,
Have you tried any motorcycle salvage yards? VOR's also used the Dellorto PHM carbs for awhile and many people swapped them out for the Keihin FCR carbs. Just thinking someone in New Zealand must have a Dellorto they could part out.

If you're still having no luck locally, I have two floats I can send you. Unfortunately, I don't think I could ship them until wednesday July 5th. The floats are free to you but I'm not sure what shipping may cost.

Sincerely,
Log

Two Dellorto floats are on the way to the land of kiwis and sheep Mr. ducman!

dude,
I just got a FS650 motard & the guy I got it off told me to call this guy if I had any problems.
His name is Nigel Bevan, PH 07 377 6500 or 0274 723 043.
He is in Taupo & I'm told "what he doesn't know about berg's, isn't worth knowing"
He was the original importer into NZ before KTM bought husaberg & took over the dealership.
Hope this helps.

welcome mr. pity, for your first post, you probably should not post someone elses' name and number. I know you are probably just trying to help, but malicious people and programs will use that info in bad ways... unless the person has posted it before or it is a published number for a business, it is generally not good form...

I pity the fool who puts my name and phone number on a message board without permission.

have Mr. B post his own number if he wants, otherwise, delete the info and just ask people to PM you if they want the info. to many bots and such scavenging for info like this...

no offense, but it is odd that you chose a 1 year old topic to post unrelated info in... are you sure you are not a malicious person yourself.....

No worries, dude. most of the time people don't mind, but occasionally it creates a mess. hope the forums can help you with your Motard!
