I'm a guy moving to Australia to travel soon, and I'm looking to buy an enduro bike to ride on road, off road, and anywhere in the country I want to go really. (No highway though, backroads are where the fun is at.) I've been looking at KLR's, KLX's, DRZ400's and typically very reliable bikes of that sort. I'd considered looking for a Husaberg, but I never really thought I could afford one. I felt certain they'd be more expensive than the other bikes I've been checking out. But I recently came across a 2000 fe600 for what seems like a steal of a deal, and I'm looking for some advice as to whether I should snatch it up. It's got no lights or speedometer on it right now but I'd be able to get them with the bike, make it legal to register, and the seller claims 3593 km. It seems like it's in great condition, doesn't look like it's been dropped or mistreated, and I desperately want to believe that this could be the right bike for me. So I've got a few questions about it. 1.Is this a plausible option for the use I'm looking to get out of it? 2.Is the 2000 fe600 known for being a reliable bike (capable of 15,000+ km) with regular service? And finally, 3.Could this be too good to be true, and I'm in danger of buying a bike that'll have problems very soon?
Thanks, and I appreciate any input!
