as it says ... what do you do to drop the weight on your berg ? although 109kg .. would still like it lighter

Mine is a fs (supermoto)
I got a lithium battery less than 700 gramms
And some alpina carbon tubeless rims (- almost 3kg! )
And a full titanium fmf system not realy that much lighter because the stock system is like only 3-4 kg in total
And lighter grips from renthal :giggle:

The bike is still heavy compared to mx converted 450's sumo bikes but because of the rims it feels realy light:cool:

I bought an 01 fc550 this year and was surprised at its weight compared to my FE. I've now removed the battery and elect start from the FE and I just now started removing unneeded wiring and switches. I still want a street legal Dualsport but I just don't see the need for all the extra wiring or the weight. I like the k.i.s.s. theory.
I'm wondering if the ignition runs in the hi or low curve when I remove the switch?

i have no idea on the K.I,S,S theory .. whats that ?
im tempted to remove my battery and starter .. but after just doing a full rebuild .. and only just managing to sort out my engine to start on the elecy ... im kinda partial to using t now ... kicking it over is hard for me as my knees are shot !!
although i think cutting down the seat will help when kicking it over ... ...

anyone know where i can get rear spokes .. ? i broke 2 on my 18" rear today

Smart Guy (really is "stupid")

Yes, shaving the seat helps with the kicking.
I'm also using a revalved fs suspension so it is lower by 25mm or so.
I'm also thinking about putting the tubliss system on. Save a few pounds of unsprung weight.

hah yes know i know what you mean lol .. k.i.s.s ...
im tempted to lower mine to be honest ... to tall for me ... either that or get a smaller bike ... the 501 is alot of power off roading lol and im only small ... no wait .. did i just say get rid of the 501 ? >>> SLAPS ONES SELF <<< HAHA

i bet the rims cost a fair penny tho ?
which battery do you have ?
Actualy the rims where for free and I even got a husaberg fuel jug with them:cool:
(Traded them for a 2002 gsx-r1000 trackbike I didn't want with my dealer 2years ago :p )
The stock rims on the fs570 are already tubeless so pretty lightweight so almost 3kg's of savin over those rims is massive I changed the angle in the head tube to because otherwise the bike was to twitchy with that much lower unsprung weight in the front now it's nice and stable without steering damper just good setup suspension:D

They are by far the most expensive mod on my bike but also the best:spin:

The battery is a skyrich hjtz7s-fp

you should post a pic i'd like to see the rims ... i think im going to go down the route of no battery, starter lights and less wiring .. but is it a gonna be noticeable weight saving ?

Battery/starter/wiring should save you about 3-4kg I guess.
But thats all weight on the center of the bike so it will not make a huge difference I think handling wise...
I know there are special kind of air suspension that is very light yo can change the shock/forks and save a few kg's but also very expensive lol

those wheels are stunning !!
well today i trimmed all the excess wiring off ... also removed the battery and lights, ... need to get a starter blanking plug so i can go kick only ... where can i get a blanking plug ?

Do you need to add/modify anything when you remove the battery/starter? Do the lights/horn still work with the engine running? Thank you
