well, I finally got a chance today to get some seat time in on the new (to me) Husaberg.

I must say, i was surprised.

when we swapped we basically just started them up and took each others bike down the street through the gears, shook hands, loaded them up and parted company.

lots of power, but a VERY SMOOTH power delivery

at first I was thinking 'man, I screwed up, this thing is a lump'

but after getting back into the 4stroke mood, its a damn fast machine.

the suspension, wheels, and a host of over parts are all KTM so that parts familiar.

it turns good. seems like it like to be ridden on the front versus the 380 more on the rear.

weight seems very comparable to the 380 as well

one thing that I did notice which put a huge grin on my face was just how easy it slides. I mean that in a power slide, controlable sort of way.

I think I'm really gonna like it!!!

Any source of plastic other than OEM?

Everything looks great with the exception of the front fender which i'd like to replace

RE: husahappy camper?

Hi Ammo,

Congratulations! In the short amount of time that you've been with us, you've said more complimentary things about your bike than the previous owner ever did in his entire membership at this site. You've broken new ground, and I for one, am glad.

So now the goal is.... to keep you happy! I think you'll find that the Husaberg is like any other bike, in the sense that it will have it's quirks, just like any other make. Fortunately for you, many people here have been through the new bike ritual, so you have knowledge on your side. If you have any problems or questions about your bike, ask the members. They've helped hundreds over time, and will surely keep you on the trail.

If you have an open mind, good sense of humour, and spellcheck, you can accomplish anything with your bike.

thanks,

Welcome to the 470 club! Which one did you get? Do a search on taffy's info sheet and read it. Don't let it scare you, as the 470's are a wonder full machine! Just watch your oil for ferrous metal!!!! Has your 470 had any upgrades? The OEM plastic is fairly inexpensive right from the dealer ship. Two sources that I use are my dealer (EURO MOTORS and motoexoctia both dealer are fine sources. My parts come very quickly and feel my dealer gives the best price possible. Give Andrew a call. (It pays to shop around)
