HI all,
Have a 2001 FX650 and we think there might be a stator issue developing.
With a strong and extremely fast kick we get good spark, but with the electric starter we don't get any.
Ther basics are all checked - we have R6 starter mod, engine spins very well, auto decompressor and everything runs A1 and engine has no difficulty going through compression stroke.
However, if I pull in the manual decompressor, I can get engine to spin at rediculous speeds and I get good spark. Funny thing is, when cranking normally I would swear that the electric start turn FASTER then the kick but still no spark????
Anyways - I think I am due for a rewind. Called our usual supplier (RMSTATOR) and they told me they could not rewind it.
I am VERY hesitant to send stator oversees - A friend of mine sent parts over to Italy last year and they were seized at customs - not knowing what the electronics were for even after including all proper documents - parts eventually got lost forever.
If you have a good lead on a Canadian company that is familiar with this job please send me the info
thanks!
