My info comes direct.

Over 175 fires and 65 dead and counting.

My thoughts go out to all of Greece.

What a terrible scene, you need a lot of gear and trained people to fight fires on that level and it appears they have neither.

Glad to hear that Takis only had a close call in regards to his property.

A national tragedy.................. My heart goes out to all the victims of this co ordianted attack.

Lot's of copy cats. It only takes one cigarette butt or one bored idiot with a Bic lighter.

I've seen big fires like that once, in the south of France, we were riding the TGV and passed through a burned up area, with huge fires still burning in the back, you could see the firefighters and the planes coming and going between the fires and the sea nearby, picking up water, dropping it, one crew even crashed from what appeared to be fatigue.

It looked like a battlefield and it was. Total carnage. I feel for them, it's more enraging that you know they're mostly human made.

Pretty damn scary being around fires like that. I was in one of the crews that traveled in to help in the fires west of Sydney on Chrismas day/Boxing day 2001.

Only tiny differences between houses that survived and those that burnt!

hi you all, your concern is pretty much apreciated and may our prayers are heard for the sake of the almost 65 souls that got lost...

me takis and his wife went to MANI were takis has an old tower (heritage from his ancestors) so as to prevent fire from his property and to assist as any way we could.

fortunately no damage to the tower...

unfortunately until today we have fire in progress....

p.s.
in some pics there are many civilians firefighting, trying to save others people lives and to prevent the expansion using any mean possible wether these means are water , soil plants or even their own clothes...
if someone thinks that they give a damn of the protective gear the should wear is very unrealistic.
they woke up with fire inside their villages and houses and the "protective gear" is something imaginative..
if only all people had these people braveness in such a difficult situation.
