Brett:

What is going on. Did I wake up and find myself in a parallel universe?

First Husaberg parts are suddenly available. Then new model bikes appear all over the country. A Supermoto team emerges out of nowhere with a top rider. Pictures of Husavixens adorn some threads. And now giant Husaberg pick up truck decals are spotted.

How much more of this can a regular Husaberg enthusiasts take!

I am afraid to ask. Whats next?

GeeZ Husabutt, I should go bed, maybe there really is a Santa!...nsman

LOL, your enthusiasm enthuses me !

Wow, I had no idea that anyone else would want a sign (sticker) like that.
If you'd really like one, you have two choices:

1. Call Barber Sign Company in Vallejo CA, ask for Gary, and tell him that you'd like them to make you some vinyl signs using the artwork that they have on file for me. Their # is 707 642 2233 - And using the vector graphic that we made up, they can make the vinyl any dimension that you like.

2. Download these files Husaberg Vinyl EPS File One and Husaberg Vinyl EPS File Two and take them to your local vinyl shop and have them make them for you :)

I'm getting a big gut like Santa, but since I shave my head, I'm not sure if I have grey hair or not !

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

I'm afraid too.

Well, quite frankly, I'm afraid too.
Josh Barrett is going to be spending the week of January 8 through the 15th in my region, mainly in California  We're going to the first Supercross race, then Josh is going to participate in Doug Chandler's new Supermoto school in Stockton CA. I think I'll stay on the sidelines for that one, so that I don't obstruct anyone's justice. There will be more news on the Supermoto front soon as well.

But more toward the meat and potatoes of Husaberg, we'll be participating in the Dirt Rider Magazine 24 Hour Enduro Torture Test in Gorman Ca at the end of January/beginning of February. As I'm sure that many of you are aware, it's a big deal. My understanding is that we'll have four guys riding for us, and that Dirt Rider will have another couple of guys who will ride a leg or two on our bike at their request. More details on this within the next week or so.

We have some more stuff simmering, but I'll need to get with Josh before I can let all of the cats out of the bag.

Happy Holidays,

Brett Saunders

Please don't take this the wrong way, but does "Big Deal" translate into properly set up bikes with support? It would be great to see a awesome write-up on the berg! I personally believe that it does. with the effort BMG is putting out this should be a great boost for Husaberg.

"Big Deal"

"Big Deal" translates into two bikes which will be lovingly prepared two weeks in advance by a mechanic with eleven years of Husaberg experience. Because of the strict guidelines that the magazine imposes on us, we are not allowed to do anything to the bikes aside from jetting. We'll break them in and get them jetted correctly, do an initial service, then deliver them to Dirt Rider, where they'll photograph them (action and still), then we'll pick them up, give them another service, and make sure they are graphically (no scratches) perfect for the start of the 24 hour test.

"Big Deal" also translates into a team of four riders who are skilled and experienced enough to know how to behave in a "torture-test" type environment. Not fast young guys, but savvy, smart, tough riders. Hopefully, one of them will be a guy with extensive ISDE experience, but he's not confirmed yet.

"Big Deal" means that we've got spare wheelsets, chains, levers, clutches, brakes, tires, tubes, and an entire spare bike to pick parts off of. We're scheduling a conservative number of oil chances, as I'd rather err on the side of caution where the motor is concerned in order to keep gear changes smooth and engine wear to a minimum.

Any suggestions regarding this test, let's start a new thread in the appropriate forum :)

Best regards,

Brett Saunders

Hi Brett,

Nice truck. I for one would like to thank you for your hard work in improving the marketing of Husaberg motorcycles.

"Big Deal" to me means that this will provide national exposure for Husaberg on the most level playing field, i.e. a shoot-out of basically stock motorcycles where it won't matter who has the deepest racing budgets.

None taken. :D I prefer to think of myself as smart and savvy rather than young and fast. 8)

Any chance you are going to be coming down to the STTARS Winter Series SM race at the Grange on January 9th? Maybe with some demo bikes. :D

Any spectating allowed for the Gorman 24hour race?

Actually, that would be a very good idea, since we need to drive from So Cal up to Nor Cal. And yes, we'll be stopping in Bako :)

I'll let you know.

Cheers,

Brett

Hi Brett,
I so happen to be a veteran of the annual 24 hour Dirt Rider invitational. Most memorable for me was a 1997 modified four stroke entry. If it were not for Daytona being in the way we most likely could have a similar experience during the first annual North American Force Ride. :D In any event, have a laugh on me and enjoy.

Dirt Rider Magazine / May 1997 / Wolf Tales by Tom Webb

We Lost One.

Dave Bertram, a seasoned enduro / ISDE racer with a vat full of gold medals and AA awards, wasn't lost. His Cycle Gear Inc. XR440R was, as was its pilot, engine builder Dale Lineaweaver.

We promptly organized a search party to locate Left-Turn Lineaweaver. Ken Fraught, Steve Hatch, Randy Hawkins and Kevin Hines went to the southernmost point of the circuit while I rode with Bertram and Mental.

With the bells tolling past midnight, Mental was in his element and unfortunately for Bertram and myself, in the full cochise mode. Past the signal tower Mental picked up a lone set of tracks glaringly apparent in the moist soil. Someone had missed a turn, followed the two-track road all the way off the ranch property, down a hill steeper than the infamous Widowmaker, over the California aqueduct and onto the local highway. As Mental sniffed at tire tracks and studied spore samples Dale was securing blacktop directions at an all night convenience store.

We returned to camp at 3:00 AM to learn Dale was fast asleep having made the fifty mile return trip via highway.

In the end our 24 hour test was a huge success.

Tom Webb

Ps
To add insult to injury my teammates were Dave Bertram, Steve Hatch, Kevin Hines, Rodney Smith and John King. Needless to say it was a very long drive home. In hindsight I should have simply ridden the 440 all the way back to the Bay Area.

As a prospective Husaberg owner, this is all very good news to me. I just sold my "other" bike in anticipation of an '05 FE650e in my near future.

It was great seeing Husberg out there in the AMA Supermoto series in '04. I didn't noticed any DNF's in any of the races I watched. When I saw it live in Reno, that blue and yellow bike just sounded brilliant the whole time. It never skipped a beat.

In '04, the 24 hour torture test in Gorman, CA was televised on Dirt Rider Adventures on OLN. That was great to watch. I would be highly pleased to see an FE participate and do well in '05.

A lot of the guys I ride with look at me cross when I tell them I'm buying a berg soon. They say, "Oh, don't buy one of those, they're a nightmare. You can't get parts and they break down all the time." I retort with a comment stating that in the last few years, things have changed dramatically for the company and its products. I hope to prove the naysayers wrong. I'm confident I will. I think they've done a great job for '04 and and I think they're going to nail it in '05.

Craig, you happen to be located near one of the biggest 'Berg dealerships in the country as well, so I hope that influences your decision :)

Best regards,

Yea, Nevada Motorcycle Specialties is an excellent shop. Great bunch of guys. They've even helped me with my ex-Honda in the past. They have really good prices and have an '05 FE650e in stock for $500 under MSRP. Got my eye on that one right now.

AJT

Hey Brett,
As someone 8O who watched AJT's dust disapear on the tightest of trails, I would say Smart, Savy, Young and Fast pretty much describe our AJT.
Hmm.. If we could only get him off the 520 and back onto his Husaberg?
:D :D :D

I am trying to get the neccasary legal tender for the new Berg. I am working 10 hour days (while I am out of school), putting two hours in the gym 4 times a week, and I gotta pay for and finish 7 more classes before I graduate from UNR. I am also going to try as hard as I can to get the #1 plate open expert for MRANN.

If someone would just take this 520 of my hands I would be set. Tonight I managed to take apart the forks on my 520, in between going to work and the gym. I am going to copy its valve stack in the Berg, it has the best forks I have ever ridden!!
