Ruidoso, NM - first week of August - help

I will be in Ruidoso NM, the first week of August - I'm looking for any info. about trails in the area and wanting to know if there's anyone out there who would like to join me for a ride. Any help would be appreciated.

There are no motorized trails in Ruidoso, that 's the bad news. The good news is that Cloudcroft is a short 30-40 minute or so drive south from Ruidoso. The Sacramento District of the Lincoln National Forest has lots of trails, most of it is ATV width, but most of the Rim Trail is still single track. I ride there often, and know the trails pretty well.

You can download a trail map from the Lincoln National Forest website, or pick up a trail map at the Ranger Station just outside of Cloudcroft. I may be over there for a day or so during your time in the area, but no real plans.

Fun place to ride, although it is a bit quad infested, the temps are cool in the summer and its a great place to summer ride.
