Hi there
I'm Steve from north wales and returning to off road after a 15 year break.
I've been road racing for the last 10 years but unfortunately can't justify the cost
Of it any more (for now)
While I'm here can any one shed light on what what had gone wrong with my 450fc 2004. I was on a practice day yesterday when im told a big cloud of blue smoke blew out of the back of the bike then I know the bike spluttered to a stop.
I don't want to try firing it back up incase I do any more damage though I have cranked it over on the kick and it seems to have good compression??
Thanks

i would think that the piston has been graunching in the liner and it has just about had enough. my family are from Betws and also Glan Conwy

regards

Taffy

Your bike blew big time I wasn't that far behind you when it happened gutted for you tasted expensive:furious:

Cheers Taffy. We spoke already I had a few bits off you a few weeks ago. Problem solved I
think. As I'd been off it a couple of times an over flow had let oil into the air box boot and then dumped a load into the carb hence the cloud of smoke. I didn't know this at the time but once I'd done a compression test at home everything seemed ok so took a chance and it fired up but smoked a lot. When I realised the problem and cleaned it out it fired up clean as a whistle. Lucky lucky
