Care to open a new section regarding riding tips (enduro) ???

If not, may i ask my silly questions here ?????????

Weight back, focus 37.6 yards ahead and pin it..................... hope that helps

go big or go home.

if in doubt flat out

have ambulance on speed dial

High gear, Lots of gas, light knee grab in almost a braced for impact way back position, low rpm and big twists. Stand up to shift in to 2nd. My bike is working sweet.

let it move underneath you, dont sit on it, pre-empt the corners leaning it in while sitting 'on top' of it, not in the saddle.

Some good and interesting advice here for you ZX.
Here's another one.
As you ride at your pace, pick your lines on the trails and push yourself a little harder
and farther. Move your body around the bike. You will get better with time.
You need seat time though. I ride once a week for at least an hour each time.
I skip sometimes but not often.
This way you will get to know your ride well.

Here's what appears to be a good site.

I'm new to this but it really is true - weight back - look ahead (not at your front wheel) and open it up. Everything screams at you to slow down when the going looks rough but keep your nerve - open it up & whey ho your out the other side...how did I get here..Still tough to do though.

If you haven't crashed yet and your bike is new just knock it over and get it done with. You'll feel greatly relieved to have it over with and enjoy the riding after that.

There is some truth to this.
And at first you may crash more often, but after awhile you learn to stay on the bike
and get offs are few and far between

Dez has the best advice, want to get better ? Ride with better guys. Bench race with them after the ride, then next time pick one or two things only and concentrate on them, Oh ya ride more !

in fast corners I ride knee down on the surfcae, exiting conrners at at least 150 km/h . breaking at 270 kmph back to first gear with the rear wheel just in the air... never use the rear brake
but that is on the kawasaki zx.. of course :)

but: important riding lesson for all types of bikes: you will end up at the point you look at! the further the faster!

protective clothing wil extend your learning time

good luck
klaas FE550

So for offroad, dont look at trees and on the track , dont look at the tyre wall ! :D

besides getting fit the part of the berg that needs most help is the suspension

get the suspension sorted or at least dialed by someone fast whose good at setup before you get too hard on yourself and time the bike over some courses

some lap times from my test course:

stock yz400 7:25

stock berg 650 8min 2 seconds of tourture :(

berg after a quick revalve 7:30, with almost nothing stock, 7:04 haven't timed for a while but new improvements can do 4 laps without a break.

fastest guy I know at top level in state competition 7 min neat on stock kx250f

same guy on stock kx250 2 stroke best time 7:14 and after revalving was 6:43

its easy to blame the equipment but sometimes its well founded. if the bike isn't working near its best then learning to ride it as is might not be the best thing for improving riding style.

are you saying we should all switch to kawasaki's

No way !

sorry bout that :D

nah just get the crap stock suspension sorted it'l make anyone faster..

i was sort of saying even the speedboats er um kawasakis need help,

point of the lap times was that every bike goes faster when its well setup so its an easy improvement without the rider learning new skills.

best riding tip for a berg... sort the stock boingers they need help.
