What gear does everyone use. I've been using whatever I could afford at the time:

Alpinestar vector boots, love em

O'Neal helmet I got it for 1/2 price because it had a blemish, wich I rubbed off at the counter after getting my receipt

Pants and jersey from the budget shelf, Thor jersey and Answer pants I'll wear last years color scheme.

Thor gloves

I'm looking at chest protectors now, any advice? the Acerbis Impact Roost looks good, I'll need it at Moab.

For Hydration I've been carrying a 1 liter Gator-Aid bottle behind my headlight (yes it fits)(barely)

e-bay... New,used missmatched you name it. I love my Vectors as well. I got them for $100 off e-bay. Used one time, sold due to injury dohhhhh...

I am on the cheap also. Closeout Moose gear -because they make there stuff roomy for the big guys- I am a bit mis-matched but after a few hours of riding i am covered with dust from being last anyway  I use a Moose backpack with a camel back bladder for hydration. the things i did not skimp on (well at least for me) were my boots, knee protection, and chest protection. My helmet is not the most expensive but i think that after they meet the DOT and Snell criteria it is mostly a weight and comfort issue-

I am always looking for gear on the cheap for my kids also.

I like to check the Fox "clearance rack" once in awhile. I recently replaced my old old Bell Moto 4 and got one of these Fox helmets directly from their website. Shipping was real fast.

While on the subject of riding apparel I must say that I hate the new Fox pants. The new ones are cut so low waisted that they are uncomfortable. Every time I venture into a bike shop now I look at the riding pants and it seems that all brands are now cut this way. I really don't care that much about fancy gear and prefer an old t-shirt to a flashy jersey. But it would be nice if I could get a new pair of pants that fit! It looks like I'll have to wait out this low cut and baggy gang look craze thats going on right now.

Moose M1 from head to toe, well I have an Arai and Alpinestars also. Moose definately makes a high quality product, I have pants that are 3 years old that look great. Keep in mind I get a new set each season for racing, but I do ride a lot and wear the older gear when I practice.

MOOSE GEAR M1 & XCR (who wudda thunk!) HJC Helmet (hope to get a new Moose Helmet soon and new Thor Quadrant Boots.

Kraig

moose m1 gear
aria helmet
Gaerne sg-10 boot
evs ballistic jersey/ chest protector- is kind of bulky, but very protective - I would buy it again
Note: snowboard pants and jackets work well for wet days, and can be found relatively cheap in the spring
