Who now has the most hours on a 04-06 with no real problems?
It seems the quality has improved big time from what I have herd!
By now some of you guys must have some serious hours on your bikes. It would be interesing to see the reliability listed and compaired to other bikes. ( note oil change interval as well )

Regarding hours of reported operation:

Are the majority of you using an inductive hour meter?
If so please be advised that RFI in transit will trip said meter logging run time.

It may prove beneficial to log hours pre and post each ride.

Dale

PS
Simply starting ones lawnmower near an inductive hour meter equipped bike will record run time. :D

How on earth did you figure that out?

On our practice bikes (XR 100 Fleet) I use a Syntec recording tachometer / hour meter.

I keep detailed service records and noted some of the bikes were accumulating hours without being removed from the trailer.

I then decided to test and discovered most any ignition without a resistor wire, plug and / or cap would operate the unit from afar.

We hauled one of the little fella's with us as a pit bike cross country. Daytona I believe. Without leaving the trailer said bike accumulated some 30 plus hours.

Sincerely,
Dale

Speaking of hour meters, the 04 and up have hour meters in the Computer/Speedo, I assume they mark time when the bike is moving instead when the engine is running. I had a syntec on my 04 and it read more time than the the one in the speedo.

My 04 fe550e clocked up 7700km 185 hours , run silcolene pro 4, 15-17hour changes. 4 rocker arm clearances in that time, sounded great still, raced and enthusiastic trail rides, all offroad work,16-48 to keep rpm min.
Everything has changed in 4 years since last one, wont say to much ,or everyone will have an edge then.....

00 Fe 600 gone
04 Fe550e gone
