Reliability

Whilst i was out today Marshalling at a pratice track, i got talking to another marshal and the conversation turned to Husaberg reliabilty, Now i know of 2 riders using bergs who haven't had and problems, and the BEC team don't seem to have engine failures, Are the new engines reliable? he also said that i was mad to get the 450 ! and should instead opted for the 390. however as i'm no longer riding H&H and goning to enter more long distance trails i think the 450 will be fine

new bikes are nothing at all like the older ones. only thing in common is the name.

reliability wise they will be as reliable as any modern 450 enduro bike and probably more so than a couple i can think of.

when it comes to engine size dont think mid-west are running anyone on the 450 - tyson maybe? - most are on the 390 except for padgett who rides the 570.

I was mad to get a 570 but I love it :lol:

Has he actually ridden both the 390 and the 450, or if not did he know much about what they're like to ride? If he was assuming that the 450 is as difficult to ride as an average 450 I suspect most people who ride one wouldn't agree. There's no doubt the 390 is a great bike and for some people it would be the best choice, but I doubt that many regret buying the 450 - I certainly don't as it's much easier and less tiring to ride than the 450 Husky I had before (especially in tight twisty going). Ideally it's best to have a ride on both before buying and make up your own mind as it's obviously a personal choice and depends on how you ride and where. I'd guess you'd be happy with either bike.

No engine failures in our shop as of yet. We started selling them in 2008. I ride the FE570 I had a 09 FE450 prior to that. I find the FE570 to be better in the tight stuff and of course everywhere else. I Ride a gear up and lug the bike. I may be wrong, but I feel this will help it with reliability. We ran a 2009 FE570 in the Perry mountain 24 hour race. The head cracked (TSB) but the bike never slowed, just leaked some oil. We replaced the head and a friend of mine bought it last year and loves it. We never changed the oil in the entire 24 hour race. we finished 11th over all.
