Hi Guys i guess you may be able to help me on this one,
My 05 550fe has 150 hrs on it and i think its due a rebuild. It starts and runs fine and has always been serviced every 8hrs.
I always change my bikes before they get to a year old but ive not used this bike now for 6 weeks as ive been waiting for a new one to come into stock but there is a big husaberg shortage in the uk. ive had this one from new and it really is mint so ive decided to rebuild mine and run it till the beginning of next year.
The bike had a piston and liner in at 60 hrs but everything else was fine so thats all that was changed so i guess the piston and liner will be okay but ill put rings in it anyway.
This is what i was gonna replace, timing chain, roller bearings in rocker arms, small end bearing, big end bearing, main bearings, balancer shaft bearings. I was gonna check the gearbox bearings and selectors and only replace them if they where iffy.
Another thing the last time i used it there seemed to be a clunking from the clutch side when the throttle is blipped from low revs and when you hit the kill button just before the engine comes to a stop, id guess this was the sprag clutch but i dont know which parts to change in this so i need help there.
Am i best getting bearings from husaberg or is there some good types from a bearing specialist. (im not trying to save money but if better items are available from other than husaberg ill use them).
Have i missed anything out ?????????
