Hello second time posting here you've been really helpful before so here goes....
Bike: 2014 husaberg te300
Issue: rear brake light stays on when lights are on

So yeah the rear brake light is staying on when I put my lights on, when I turn the lights off the brake light works fine. It's a stock led assembly.... Any ideas?
Thanks Briceyberg

you've got the feed going in through the earth wire. sort out which wire is meant o do which.

That's strange as I haven't changed/touched anything.
Thanks briceyberg

Replace your light bulb and I bet you find the solution. Your getting a short or open inside your bulb. The open ground is most likely the culprit, but I think that the open ground is inside the bulb. If I remember correctly the tail light is in series to the daytime light and the brake is parallel? So if the open on the ground was at the harness, it would disrupt other items as the harness only has one ground location with everything wired to it. Very simple circuit on this machine.

Its a LED light do you think perhaps i have water inside causing a short perhaps

so i've checked the voltage to the light with the lights on and off and also have ran a separate earth and this is my results still no closer:furious: help lol

soo i think whats happening is the brake light feed wire is shorting to the frame and when the lights are on and earthing to the frame its then picking up a voltage through the frame causing the brake light to stay on.....time to get hunting for a broken wire :) :gun:

your schematic makes no sense to me. i think you should follow fe350's advice and change the bulb (to an incandescent for a test)

Check the head light ground . And also other gound connection . A poor ground will do strange things . Also you should test for voltage between the live wires and the battery (-) connection . If you have a issue with bad ground then the way your testing it won't revel any information

should have checked ampage. also agree with webmonstro...

just check that a brake sensor isn't permanently on. I.E. the lever is not pushing all the time. the system is that both the F and R brake feed live to the rear bulb and then the earth takes it back up the bike. so unusually, you sometimes see three positives to the rear light of which two are conjoined.

I am going to take a wild guess and say your led is faulting. If you had a short to ground all that would happen is a blown fuse when it came on or a burnt wire. check for resistance between the schematic as you showed and see if you have a open circuit. If you do than no short to ground. Check for a weak ground at the junction in the harness. If your led has water in it, this would also short the circuit out.

So a update for all you mud monkeys.... I connected a earth to the earth wire of the rear light and then ran a live from the battery to the brake light.... and that works, ran a live to the light and the brake light still came on so came to a conclusion it's the led unit itself that's faulty.

Hi did you finally get this sorted as I can not find a suitable LED Globes for the tail light.

Hello yes all sorted now, turned out to be the led unit easy fix but @ £60 not so cheap! Happy trails
