Hi,Im having trouble sourceing 19 inch rear tyres for on road,so am considering changing my rear 19 inch rim to an 18,can this be done?Is there a certain rim I am looking for or can I get away with something common? Also can I then get the 19 inch rim re-laced onto the front?Any advice would help,on a budget so cant afford motard rims, will be using bike mainly on road so want to be able to put some decent road tyres on,knobblys scare the %#@* out of me on road,Cheers

whato Husa

it would be very easy to fit an 18" rear rim. the correct MX/enduro rear rim is 2.15 x 18", whether you want to go straight to a 2.5" is up to you.

all you need do is order that rim and a set of 18" spokes for a KTM/Husaberg (36).

the same on the front really. I thought you said that there were no 19" tyres?

the front should have a smaller rim WIDTH than the rear so at this moment you'd have 2.15 each end. not good.

if you do do all this I suggest strongly that you get 18mm offset TCs.

regards

Hey Taffy,

Fancy seeing you here ;) hope alls well over there,Thank you for the reply, sounds good and I was hoping it wouldnt be to tricky,Im not sure about the front yet, there is a wide range of 19" front tyres but not so for rear
Perhaps I would be better off just sticking with the 21" front for now,Il look into it a bit more, while Im here I may as well thank you again for the re-wound stator you did for me,its still going strong,I was so happy with the 550 I went out and brought a 650 to match :showoff: may as well post a photo as well,Cheers mate will let you know how I get on when I get around to it

Paloosa Bro... I have just fitted some bridgy TW301/302 to my WR450.....
Exelent grip on the road/gravel at 25/28 psi. Bit slippy on the wet clay but brill on the street.
I run Dunlop K180s on my Berg for backroading an would recommend them except they are now unobtainable.
And for the record I run 21/18inch wheels. I wont fit anything larger than a 120 series tyre to the rear as the larger tyres on skinny rims (2.15) ruin the steering.
Motard wheels are ok but the tyre prices are double and they seem to last about the same milage (which is sod all).
Most importantly.... which part of our paradise are you in (Im up the top of the first island).

Must nearly be enuff of us around to run a 'ForceNZride'
