I had a little lie-down in a washout yesterday. It pushed in the left side of the radiator cores toward the bottom (the tank is OK). It partly tore one core out of the bottom tank & the green stuff was running out.

As I sort out my options, does anyone know either:
1. The availability & price in Australia of a new radiator, p/n 150-030-01, 1989-1999?
2. Availability of a second hand one?
3. If fixing mine is worth pursuing?

If I go new it would be good to fit the correct front radiator protectors, p/n's 150-038-01 & 150-035-01, 1989-1999 as well.

PS: A good thing to carry in your toolbag is a packet or two of chewing gum. It worked well to seal mthe radiator, finish the ride & get home no probs.

Thanks heaps for that Jason. It may be an option if nothing comes up closer. I may be able to fix my busted one, but it would look rough.

in a land far, far away

I know it's a pain shipping, but if you can't find a better deal closer to home, I'll take care of the leg work shipping it to you if you decide you want it. It's nice to know that there's a fall-back :)

thanks,

Let’s see some pics! I can appreciate a good lay down. I’ve mangled a couple of radiators in my day's I've had very good luck with get them fix. By a place called Mylar’s or something like that? There always in the back of dirt bike or dirt rider magazines. They won't do a re-core job but can re weld and straighten almost anything.

I was hoping so. Taff, you mentioned somewhere you saw one on eBay in the UK? Is it gone yet? Apparently OS freight isn't too much of a killer on something light like this. Maybe the new one Jason found in Nevada could be worth it.

As far as lay-downs go this was pretty p_ss poor! I was still laughing untill I saw the Hot Green running out.

What I do wish I had a pic of was my friend - the one with the TE610. We were riding along this overgrown track, me first, him second & another friend third. The TE friend heard the third bloke yell something that he thought was "SNAKE!!!!". He looked down (this is at about 15mph) & saw something brown & about 1.5" in diameter repeatedly banging its head against the thigh part of the robo-cop thingy that stops his left leg snapping off at the knee. We ain't sure how he did it but he launched himself over the handlebars to the right & landed in the bushes. His bike & the snake went to the left.

After a lot of picking people & stuff up and seeing if they still worked, the third bloke explained that what he yelled was "STICK!".
