Hi All
Out in Montana visiting an old friend. Spent the weekend waterskiing. Rode the 640 Adventurer back from the lake we were at to Big Sky where my buddy lives. Took a very scenic circuitous route. Rode through the Gravelly Range and up through Yellowstone. Was on a very lonely dirt road at about 9000' and looked to my left and saw 7 Pronghorn Antelope. Doing about 35mph and the crazy Lope just start sprinting full speed on a diagonal right at me. They must of been doing 40+ and darted right in front of me across the road. If I would of had the Berg I think I could of tagged one and had a snack, and boy was I starving. Had an awesome, but lonely ride. Riddin with the neighbor at 6am tomorrow on the Berg. Lots of motorheads in this here hood :D Another neighbor saw my 3 bikes in the driveway and pulled up on an MZ. 700cc hand built Austrian supermoto, pretty darn trick. Off to bed now.

i can relate

saw a kangaroo come along side of me , then cut in front , then across and into a barb wire fence and into the air and end for end 3 or 4 times .

had an emu come out of nowhere and the took off WFO .

harassed by wild pigs [ not good ] .

We used to have a few beers n go night ridin'

No high speed stuff but 30km/h sorta through the neighbours paddock to the creek bed in down south WA bushland. Got ploughed a coupla times by emu's & roo's caught in the headlight, they hit me( '84 DR 600) & I hit Staino ( '89 Tenere' 600). Everyone survived !! Funny how a stack at night when you're pissed doesn't seem to hurt sooo much

Aren't those Antelope crazy ? Did they stop right after they crossed in front of you? Hunted them as a kid a few times in Arizona and they would do that all the time, race you to a point in the road, beat you to it and then stop after crossing in front of you. They are some whacked out animals. Did you know you can "call them in " by waving a red flag on the end of a pole ? One of the craziest things I have ever seen

Only if the cat was racing you, just to cross the road in front of you, Taffy. And if you ran it over you Won !

Are you absolutely positive it wasn't a unicorn that you raced at the end of the rainbow Cheesberger?

log

Killed a wallaby once, darted out from some scrub behind the front wheel, resulting in a big kicker at about 60-70 km/h. Stayed on but had to stop to clean my undies and pull carcass off trail.

I nearly tagged a Jack Russell Terrier 3 or 4 houses from home, and then a young Kelpie 5 or 6 houses on the other side of home, the Jack russell was lucky, only clipped my footpeg at about 60 - 70km/h, but probably got close enough to reat the specs on the rear tyre!

Big Sky

You didn't happen to drive by the Big Sky fire station yesterday on a 650, did you? Boss tank? I thought I was the only one in these parts with a 650.

RE: Big Sky

Guys, remember this is exactly the type of thread that the environazis like to quote.

650montana, that was me. Lets go for a ride. PM me. Remember I have had undigested dead mexican mangy mutt puked on me by a vulture ridin through a dump in mexico.

Are you kidding about the environazis ? Surely if they actually read the thread they could work out we aren't out slaying poor innocent animals or anything, just recalling near misses ( & a few fatalities ) in years gone by. I'd say "go pick on someone more deserving" & leave them to work it out. Where has it all come to, honestly.
