So I’ve purchased a r6 starter motor, taken it apart and the internals are the same as my current starter...???
I’ve bought the wrong starter haven’t I?
R6 2000 year

depends on what year berg you are talking about.
the starters are all mitsuba, but are wound according to mfr specs , putting out different characteristics.

Thank you, you seem to have an answer for everything I ask, much appreciated

Instead of drilling new holes in the r6 starter, can I just swap the ends of the starter casing over??

usually, but still not sure what year berg you are working with.

there RARELY has ever been a reason to replace a 2004 starter with an r6.
the swap was for the '01-02 models and sometimes a 2003.

I’ve fitted it now, I’m just about to do the torque limiter mod as well.
Although when connected the starter spins constantly

Short circuit in the relay? Battery plus and Starter plus.
