I was told that an aftermarket muffler designed for any of the 2002 Husabergs are all interchangeable. (i.e. the big gun designed for the 01-03 400 will fit my 02 470). Just wanted to check with the experts before I placed the order.

tommy

every husaberg of recent years has had the same centre pipe whether it be a 400 or a 650 so we can say that all the headers fit the centre and so do all the mufflers.

again. be like us, download the parts manual and keep it in a section called 'enduro' or summink in my documents. then it takes about 30 seconds to check out any parts hunch you may have.

it's not that we know, it's that we've all downloaded the three (workshop, parts, service) and for several years. the 'fountains of knowledge' are. as usual. CHEATING *******S!

Are you sure that you want to piss off the neighbors everytime you fire up your bike? The Big Gun is Super Loud.

I had one on my 01 470fx and took it off!

Sorry I will not sell it to you. The best thing for it is to melt it down

Seriously unless your are closed course racing only I wouldn't Go Loud.

If you live in Ca. you would get a ticket if you were riding on public lands.

I concur with husabutt. I took off my Big Gun and reinstalled the stock exhaust onto my '98. It was good for scaring folks off the course as you overtook them during a race; but it was so loud that ear plugs were necessary to prevent ringing ears. I did use it to tick off the neighbors when I lived in town though :D

the big gun for 2001 and 2002 bikes has a quiet core option.it is removable(it is rather loud when removed because the out spout is bigger and the can is much shroter than the stock bazooka)but ok when installed .the big gun application chart says their muffler fits 2001-2003 bikes.it does not fit 2003 bikes,i have tried.dan.

Excessive noise from bike is exactly why all of the public riding area around my area are gone I have to drive for 2 hours now they also use this to try to limit or remove some of the state riding area's that are available to ride.

I do not think you will gain much if anything besides noise (husabutt correct me if I am wrong please) the stocker is pretty free flowing.

Plus you will save a lot of money!!!

A quiet core will be about like what you have allready!

What you do is up to you, just my .02

I agree. I can't tell much difference between the stocker and Big Gun except for a huge increase in noise. As I am just your average trail rider I probably could not feel a one or two horsepower increase anyway. The only kind of pipe that would interest me is a quieter one.

Can anyone remember the 1972-1973 Penton (KTM) 125. That bike was so quiet and sounded like a sewing machine. Plenty fast for its time also.

Simon is working on a quiet pipe for the Bergs.
