Hey just had to drill, tap and helicoil my water pump cover threads and in the process drained the oil.

Forgot that bergs use a 10w50 n put in a 10w40.
For a days riding will this have any effect ?!

You should be fine. Some of the guys on this forum are using Shell Rotella T 15w40 in their 'Bergs and have reported no problems.

I wouldn't ride it with 10w-40 in it. The higher number indicates the viscosity when the oil is hot, and the oil you have in it will be thinner at operating temperature than the 10w-50. At high loads you may not have sufficient lubrication to prevent metal-to-metal contact. If you baby the throttle avoid lugging it, it'll be less likely that you'll do any damage, but how likely is that?

I have used the Castrol Power 1 Off Road 10w40 for 15 hours twice on my FE570, not a problem.

I only use mobile 1 15/50 full synthetic in my berg.. since I got it Ive changed the oil 4 times (1500 miles).. if that gives you an idea how important oil is. Oil is the only thing you can really control from the start, so why not give her the best? I use rotella 15/40 in my KLX 351. The berg only gets the best
