I was very enthusiastic about the yellow and blue bikes and bought a FE550 model 2004. :)

many years ago I rode a KTM 350 2stroke but age makes wiser... :?

but sh@#T happened after 4 rides the bike stopped and didn't start again...
the bike did only 70 hours and people warned me about the bergs
wrong descision?

I started to take it apart and foud a broken valve spring (intake left) :(

the dealer explained this was a result of over-revving.
the horsepower makes the rear wheel spin of course

but isn't there a rev limiter or some protection??????? 8O
definitly no rev indication to be found....

do I have to change my riding style to avoid valves braking??? :?

so psychlogical help needed (so I will repair the bike and enjoy it in future)
and tips and tricks to keep it running for more than 4 hours

and money haha, but if you brake it , you pay it!

The original Husaberg conical valve springs are *****. prone to breakage it happend to me not long a go. you should pm Taffy he sells a dual valve spring kit that's a lot better.

A Trailtech Vapor or Acewell speedo will also give you tacho display and rev warning lights. Water temp is handy too! Might be worth it if you are worried about over-revving?

thanx for your answers! :)
just received taffy's DVSK and will build them in. the local dealer said just replace the broken spring, but i don't trust them conicals anymore.
:(
the valve was bent a little with a light scratch on the piston
so i guess i was lucky :?

i will look at a rev counter because i lost the feeling about revs:

i used to race a kawasaki zx10r between 9000 and 12500 rpm........ 8)

will let you know how the result is

yesterday my first test ride with the new valves from taffy,

I must admit the engine runs much smoother, quieiter.

was some work to get the valve cover to fit again, (meaning not to touch the springs) but ut was worth it!! :bounce:

thanx Taffy

So, is over reving an issue ? I tend to do that when the going gets ruff.

i installed a cheap koso mini lcd meter A042120618 that indicates revs and temperature
so now i know at which revs it brakes down.......

overrevving too long will eventually kill the engine although there seems to be a rev limiter.
however riding a husa at max rev (off road) is useless,
the torque at low revs is huge and you are much faster accelerating from low revs
