Can anyone tell me how much a new 02 650FE motor would cost here in the U.S? I am just curious as I rebuilt my 01 520mxc motor and it cost $2000. I was thinking when I wear the berg out I might just purchase a new motor. I should be far from that point but it never hurts to prepare. My 650fe has about 75 "light" hours, it recently had the rockers replaced.

I have never heard of anyone purchasing a complete motor before. Hopefully Jedi will come along and be able to answer this. This would be good to post in "Dealer & Distributor Discussion" It would be great if a "replacement motor" fully updated & ready to bolt in was available. Probably not though as I'm sure word of it would have already made it here.

But...........................

if there was enough interest I bet BMG could order up some. If the U.K. distributer can order up 501's with all the 04 updates it may be possible..........................

We haev ordered complete engines in the past, and continue to do so.

However, the price will scare you, and you actually get more value out of ordering a new bike.

Check with your local dealer for pricing.

Cheers

Hi AJT,
For nearly a decade I have purchased new Husaberg engine assemblies. Unless you are creating a new construction special it is indeed far more cost efficient to purchase a complete bike as Jedi has stated.

Sincerely,
Dale

Thanx everyone. I am only into my berg for about $2500. So from what I hear I beleive it will cost me over $2000 for a new motor. Hopefully it makes it another two years, with regular maintainance, until I am out of college and can afford a new bike.
