G,day Fellow Berg people

I have a question to help me decide what way to go, as i have stripped my fe 650 to the bare bones and plan to brighten it up with some new color.

Is it better powder coating the frame or painting it in a 2 pack.

what are your thoughts

Powder coat is nice and tough. On Offroad bikes, I've seen it get pretty chipped up so it isn't an easy touch up. If it was an fs, I'd consider it. Or if you intend it to be a garage queen.

Yeah interesting, are husabergs powder coated in the factory. This one has been done, seems like more work to paint it

they are powdercoated, its seriously tough stuff, even sandblasting takes some time to remove it

2pac by comparison is pretty crappy

Powder coat it is then, thank you bushie.

Ive just got to make sure the compliance stickers dont get damaged, i will just tape them up i guess.

Also i need a lock smith to get a key made for the steering lock

Things like neck bearing or oil line in frame ect or threads to be taped up well.
I'll be powerder coating my next project

I painted my 600 frame with automotive paint, PPG water based color with urethane clear coat. I will attest that the factory Husaberg powder coat is unbelievably tough. I hand water sanded it and had to start with 220 wet (which is quite rough) just to break it open.
