Powder Coating of Frame

As I'm having my engine rebuilt I got around to looking at the frame and thought about touching up the chipped and rusty areas. To my horror I discovered that the paint is peeling off on the rear frame rails and there is alot of rust underneath what I thought was good.

Is it worth getting the frame powder coated ?

Does anyone know whether a good powder coat is better than the stock paint job ?

Its a 2002 bike.

Lloyd,

I would even hazard to say that a good after market paint job is better than the original! :wink:

Prividing it's done properly powder coating should do the job fine.

Before I call Gary, do you know anywhere local to Basingstoke that is recommended ?

I don't I'm afraid Lloyd.

I would ask Gary to arrange it for you as he knows a few good people in the area and, of course, he already has an existing business relationship with them.

Going to splash out and get it zinc primed then powder coated.
