Two friends on road legal bikes where stopped the other weekend by two police men on KTM's on the Brecon Beacons, They where questioned about what they where doing, had there registration numbers and frame number taken, and where sent on there way.
My question is how long before they stop us riding green lanes, They are declassifying many routes so the walkers have somewhere to go uninterrupted, And the paying motorist is left in the lurch again.
How I'm envious of you blokes in Oz all that free space out there you can go riding around on. :twisted:
 
i can see your point but we need to let the grumblers know that we're legal.

Yep, we do have lots of space to ride, however we are also losing it to the greenies all over the country.

I am currently contributing to the devlopment of management plans for the areas around here. In draft form they make no mention of recreational use of the land by legal riders, just identify one of the challenges as being illegal use. In fact, I estimate that 70-80% of the recreational use of the lands is by legal dirt bike riders. In all the years riding here, I have seen 1 bush walker and a handfull of 4wds, the rest is dirt bikes.

The approach here is to loock everything down, concentrate usage, and create more problems, so lock that down too. As elsewhere, dirt bikers are not very organised, and just want to ride, and will often just ride around signs and locked gates, ultimately creating more ammunition for those who want us out. Noise is the number one enemy.

I am also trying to get the DSMRA, our main lobby group, formally associated/affiliated with MA so we, DSMRA, can represent lots more numbers.
