Any supermoto guys use a pod air filter? how big does it need to be to not restrict performance? Is there even any benefit to using one? i think it might look cool but is kind of close to the exhaust maybe it would hurt performance? also more likely to ingest water if get stuck in the rain?

just a thought i had.......anybody with experience?

I wouldn't bother with this.
I have pods on Katana, and it looks nice on vintage bike, but I don't know for Husa...

I think you will have more problems than enjoing.
I also think that they are not so good in filtering like foam filter, so if you are going to ride in dust, and of course like you said, there is a also problem with sucking of water.

kind of what i was thinking, how about this... is there any benifit to a DNA / K&N style under seat filter vs foam filter, It will rarely see dusty area's here or rain really.

I am doing a frame off resto and putting a FC tank onto it and will only have one filter instead of the stock 2 and am concerned.... (the stock fc600's only had one filter with this tank but mines fairly modified thus my concern)

A couple of Supermotos guys are running pod filters with excellent results,
Taffmeisters does a bellmouth podfilter kit also.

interesting, which bikes was this on? i do not think taffs bellmouth will fit my bike and the bike wont fit a very large pod filter either, maybe three inches long and a few inches around and/or tapered? how big of filters are they running? is the smaller size like that of what you would find on a sport bike acceptable for a thumper?

for example i could easily fit a pod filter meant for a 4 cyl 1000cc sport bike with 4 carbs but they are only 250cc per cylinder, i dont think i would have a problem fitting one slightly larger but not a lot.
