Take a look at the PatATi engine:

It is a simple two stroke (a piston, a crankshaft and a connecting rod).
Without rotary valve and without reed valves it has asymmetric transfer and intake like:

Piston looks half as long as the rod and looks heavy.
Piston pin location is 1/4 of the rod length from the top.
looks like it solves one problem at the expence of creating 6 more!:)

At least it "looks like it solves one problem".

The rest 5 problems are obvious.

But what is wrong with a longer distance of the wrist pin from the top of the piston?
