What year engine parts - cylinder & head - will fit a '97 FE501E? How about what year seats?

As far as I know there isn`t much difference between a 96 and a 97. Maybe up to a 98 or 99 until they changed engines. As far far as interchanging each part you might have a problem. Some will others will not. Can`t tell you for certain. If the seats bolt up the same the best way to do it is to try one and see.
Hope this helps

Hey there Brian,

Are you in need of a seat?

thanks,

schwim,
I am in need of a seat - specifically a seat base - no need for foam/cover as I'm 6'4"/245 and will get the tallest/hardest foam I can find. I recently bought the bike as a rebuild project and the PO jury rigged a '96 seat on the bike....

Brian,
The part numbers are the same for the 501 cylinder from '94 to '98. I am pretty sure that the '99's are also the same and can't say that the 2000 will work or not. And the cylinder heads for the 501 and 600 engines up to at least '98 are interchangeable, and again I believe that the '99's are the same too.
there used to be a manual available in the Download section. Maybe i am just missing it, but if you can't find one send me a PM if you'd like a hardcopy of the '98 manual mailed to you.

DezDuster,
I downloaded the manuals from the Husaberg site - thanks for the offer.

Hi there Brian, and I apologize for the delay in replying.

I think I may have what you need in the way of a seat base. A long time ago, BaronvonHusaberg sent me one. It came off of this bike:

.

Does that style seat seem to be what you need?

thanks,

schwim,
That seat appears correct but I've already got one on the way from another member. If it doesn't work I'll let you know.

As long as you're not sitting on frame rails, we're all happy :)

thanks,

Brian, if you need cylinder head parts I can get you a good price on KMPi valves and seats. I still have an "in" there.
