HELP!!! I have A FE390, it over heats in slow single trails... I have replaced coolant with a high grade coolant Liquid Intelligence... But it has only helped slightly..fuel boils and I get to 101 degrees.
Any cost affective quick fixes. I already have a thermostat fan.

i recently noticed my fan wasn't working and I had overheated several times.

turned out my themo switch was broken - I replaced it with a lower temp unit (Beck/Arnley 2011310 switch which is a 95C/91C) for around 20 bux.

I also added a trailtech temp guage so I could monitor how hot the bike was getting.

I now still see the bike get to the same temp you are saying, 101, or around 215 fahrenheit without any real issues. Fan is on, and keeps the bike from getting any hotter.

This is a thread talking about max/dangerous temp's and 215 doesn't seem to horribly bad.

But if you are still boiling fuel, i've heard some ppl using a heat blanket under the tank.

Thanks heaps for your reply Jeff. I read the forum you suggested band has made me feel at ease as I seem to be in the right temp range Ancona is 100 degrees Celsius. But yes will have to invest in the heat blanket as petrol does boil.
