well i think i may have killed the old girl . took her to the track this last weekend and dropping into a steep downhill shifting into first she locked up and died. it still seems i have compression, but i cant move the shifter at all all. i havent opened her up yet, but i have been told everything from dropping a valve to broken piston skirt to shift fork issues. when i push her with the clutch in, she will roll for a bit and lock up while making a clink sound when rolling. any ideas prior to me splitting the cases?

you've got something in the primary drive gear/kickstart gear area.

could be a freebie so don't cry till you see it.

two years ago, i did an enduro and she locked up when i went to kickstart it. because i use a rekluse i couldn't bump it so i was knackered!

turned out that a screw had left the plate that holds the electric start blank in the hole. i swore but thenm i thought about it and realised that if it hadn't jammed the kickstart gear i would have started the bbike and the bolt was laying in the primary gears. now i hope you know how lucky i was and yes i think of the luck and not the bad luck!

fingers crossed!

Hope it works out ok....I see you have yet another design for graphics on your rads/tank. Can you advise their age and origin?

They are an old msr set of graphics. i love them, though they don't make them anymore. i am getting a very similar set made by scr graphics in puyallup washington. $70 tank/shroud set and custom number plates for 42 a set.
