Hey guys, im new to the forum and to husabergs :D !

I always loved bergs  but never had the guts to buy one... but i picked up an 91 fe 501 as a project  , that way i wouldnt have to worry about it being my main ride, so it suits me perfectly!

I have been searching for a while but cant seem to find much info but cant seem to find much info, i need a new conrod and piston for the bike, and parts are scarce. Do wiseco or pro-x make those for the 91? if so, does anybody know what the part numbers are? Or if there are any parts from later bikes that would work? I can buy the parts from my ktm dealer but would like to know if there is a cheaper alternative before i go that route. And while im asking, were there any weak spots on the motor that i should attend to while i have it all stripped? Any info would be much appreciated!

Cant wait to get the old lady in top condition and gunning it down the dirt  !

Thanx in advance.

Sorry to inform you about the conrod, but it is not possible buy any conrods here in Sweden, don`t know about the rest of the world.
Piston is made by Wössner, Wiseco, Athena so that is easy to find, but if the conrod is broken then the piston is the smallest problem.

Thanx for the reply jampe,

No, the conrod isnt broken, i just thought that it is better to replace it while im doing the big end, but it still looks like its in ok shape. But, my ktm dealer is asking about $100 for the conrod, wich isnt that bad, but for the piston they are charging about $450  , maybe its just me, but that seems like a rip-off...

Do you by any chance know the part number for wiseco?

Thanx!

Sorry.
Did`t find any Wiseco pistons, but Wössner make pistons for the 501.
It you find a conrod to an old 501 for 100$ it`s really cheap, her in Sweden the conrod was at 385$ when a bought one 2-3 years ago.

Thanx jampe,

I think im gonna go with Wossner, I just have 1 problem, on their website, the 89-93 501 pistons are 91.** in diameter, but i know the bore to be 95? Shouldnt it be 94.**? The 94- pistons diameter seems right, would that work?

Thanx

There are two 94,9x models
94,96mm Artikelnummer 8537DB
94,97mm Artikelnummer 8537DC
Can you check with your KTM dealer about the rod to the 501 if he can find anyone and if can send to Europe?

The others with 92mm you have to ask them about (Wössner)
Have not seen any older piston than 96 501 and that piston is the same as in 99-00.
Regards
Jampe
