oilfilter cover hole

what is the hole in middle of oilfilter cover? In my bike there is screw in it. Could it be used to measure oil temprature with somekind of sensor? I have koso speedo and it can be used with 2 temprature sensors, thats why im curious.

Use the screw when you remove the cover, then take the screw back out and put it in your toolbox.

That and at one time there was a wire tie bracket that went to the stator wires. Some one must have deleted it.

Trail Tech make a Temp Gauge 0-270°C with a M6x1.0 Screw Sensor
