I purchase motorex in a six gallon container , cheaper per this container , and it's recommended by KTM & Husaberg

I have a 06 Fs & Fe 650e's

Where do you buy your oil? I could not find six gallon container. Is your motorex synthetic or a blend? 10-50?
Since you have both 06fs and 06fe, do they have identical carburetors? I can't afford second bike and I would love to get off road wheels/brake for my 05 fs 650

full synthetic , I order from Parts Unlimited , you will need the valve ( quick turn on/off) for this large size container.

10 /50 w

Same carb , Fs jetting , both have full TI Akrapovic system

Use the Delo 400 and save your money. I have 50,000 miles on my FS650E and have only changed the oil 2 times. The stuff rocks.

If you want to know how good the oil is that you are using look at the specifications on the bottle.
A top quality oil should have a specification of JASO FC / ISO-L-EGD / API TC+
In this day and age oil isn't just oil. I read in some earlier posting that some people are using Diesel engine oil designed for plant machinery, I know some motorcycle engines can be classed as agricultural but surly not the Husaberg. Each type of oil is designed for a Pacific type engine and climate.
And as for only changing the twice in 50,000 this guy needs a slap or educating.

Sparks.

The 'berg guru to end all gurus has long recommended Delo 400. That recommendation is good enough for many, including me.

As for slapping the guy who has changed his oil twice, I agree. Except the slap should be for telling a bad joke...I'm pretty dang sure he was kidding.

SchnellBerg650 was joking. He hates obvious questions. In fact he is using Delo 400 on all his 4 bikes including Harley but he is changing his oil twice a day since he is using diesel oil :)
Thank you guys for taking your time to answer my question, (including you SchnellBerg). I will go with motorex since it meets JASO FC / ISO-L-EGD / API TC+e. Maybe one day one of those gurus will conduct a scientific test on both types of oil to change my mind.

If you question how well the oil in your bike holds up with your riding style etc... Why don't you send it out to get tested? This will help you make the determination on what oil works best for you. As it stands I have run Amsoil 20W-50, Shell Rotella T (dino), and currently Delo 400. I haven't checked the Delo 400 yet but I will this summer to see how well it's holding up for my riding style.

B.T.W. if anyone cares, http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ is where I go for oil testing. It costs $20.00 and the turn around time is pretty quick.

acehusaberg,
You validate all the marketing guru's assumptions on human behavior. The tests have already been done. Call Dale the guru for the real scoop. Oh ya, you have to actually ride your bike before you need to change the oil.

I use 5w50 castrol full synthetic from the local automotive store. I have had no clutch or motor problems in the last 1200 miles.

Any oil with a proper viscosity will perform well if you change your oil often (Including oil designed for Diesel motors). If Husaberg FS 650 e is good only for 100-200 hours before rebuild it doesn’t really matter what oil we are using as long we are changing every few hours. Well, as SchnellBerg pointed out I don’t put a lot of miles on my bike and I ride like a grandma. I also “hopeâ€Â

Sounds like you answered your own question. If they all perform well when the change frequency is adhered to then pick the one with the lowest cost. (Unless you own stock in Motorex) By the way, I did not call Dale a oil guru. His "guruness" relates to his overall knowledge of the Husaberg engine. I think that most people here will confirm that. He is the guy that is constantly taking them apart and get's to see specific component wear, so I would suspect that his opinion on lubricants in relation to our engines carries some wieght.

There has been SOOOOO much discussion on this issue. search back about 1.5 years on delo and you will see all of the data and good discussions regarding oil...

Searching back takes time. Maybe this week my wife will let me sit down. Reading at the present time is fun and quick. Is Delo exactly the same today as it use to be? Soon they will add some additives and we will have to look for the new oil anyway. Thank you all for your answers.
SchnellBerg650, small advice... Simmer.

Sorry to drag on this well flogged subject but look this one up it does exactly what it says on the tin

It would be interesting to see how well it would cope with all those bad waring parts.
We used it in our race team and the reports were it did make a big difference.

Be careful. You'll blow up your engine using that stuff. Husabergs require Delo 400, changed every 14-16 hours. If you follow any other lube scheme then you're an *****.

Just kidding of course.

Delo 400 is as good as ZX1...If you read ZX1 website you will be brain washed just as well as reading any other manufacturer that is trying to sell their product. Everything in the world is about money. Motorex paid a lot of money to Husaberg to be listed as preferred choice. Is Motorex as good as Delo 400? I have only 20 miles on my bike and I am willing to use my bike as a test and living proof that it doesn't matter what oil I will use as long as I change oil often. What oil should I use... ?
