i imagine you are talking about wd40?
i don't think that has ever been tried.
it will be a matter of,if the plastic covering of the stator reacts to it or not.
might be worth trying on a stator that you know has done quite a few hours,a lot of money to throw away if it doesn't work on a newie. i know from experience petrol just melts it.

I seem to recall that this was discussed some years ago as a possible SEM solution, but I don't recall anyone doing it. The cover needs to seal and a breather needs to be installed on the top somewhere. Why not use engine oil, some may get past the seal into the crank? The stator issues seem to be vibration related, and not corrosion, and sparks' fix with better wire seems to resolve the issue.

Use petroleum Jelly which is high temp or ACF 50. This is used on by the Fleet Air Arm to prevent corrosion on the Navy planes. Easy to get hold of.
