Im still thinking on new berg, was over on thumpertalk ,and they seem to have a lot of oil usage problems with new onesbefore 200 hrs.Are the new bergs basicly ktm parts configured for the 70deg motor.Any one had problems with 10 fe450?

Plenty of KTM parts in the new Bergs :(
No one has been on UHE complaining of oil usage that I can remember.
No need to think, you will not be dissapointed with the 2010 FE390, FE570 or the FE450.

I agree with Davo you wont be disapointed I have the 10 FE570 and its the best bike ive ridden. Ive had a lot of big bore 4s and 2s and this is my pick. No oil used so far only got 47hrs. The dealer told me the piston is the same part no. as the KTM 530, but the oil in these engines is not split like the 530 so they think that may be why they are so much more reliable.

My '10 FE450 hasn't noticeably used any oil in its 45 hours. You do sometimes see a tiny bit in the airbox when the engine's been hot and it's come through the breather pipe, but it's not enough to make any difference to the level in the window (especially bearing in mind you're replacing the oil at least every 15 hours anyway).

What sort of problems are being reported on TT? I can't recall seeing anything significant here which I'd expect to if there was a real issue with oil loss. In fact the main complaint we see on here is that there's not enough going wrong with the new bikes to generate forum traffic!

I know we're all likely to be biased here, but the current 390/450/570 really are phenomenally good; I only wish I'd bought one sooner and I honestly can't think of any other bike I'd even consider buying now. Much more agile than you'd expect for the class and as sweet an engine as you could hope for - nice and gentle when you want that or give it some serious throttle and it becomes an animal, even from low revs. Smooth too, so it's not unpleasant on the road if you need that (apart from the seat, but you can't have everything!). The only real question is which model best suits the riding you do...
