Oil level & overheating

Had a little discussion with someone on another forum about the oil level affecting the engine temp. But can't really explain why this is.

So, how exactly does a too high oil level make the engine temp rise?

Because you have more liquid volume and this contains heat and can't get rid of it fast enough so over heating takes place or some thing on these lines.
