oil level in sight glass

just wonderd where approx it should come upto in the sight glass on the 450,,as mine is looking bit low after puting in the recomended amount

Hi, I fill oil till its 6-8mm short of the top of sight glass, run bike for 30 secs, then let it settle for a while and check.
If ok, i then doublecheck the next day when cold.

verry bottom of the sight glass, just showing 1 - 2 mm is whats recommended.

Guys, this is 2009 & newer.
Ned, Taffy will give you a bollocking now :lol:

Sight glass is a long thin tube affair on 09s.
Showing 3/4 full is fine, dont let it drop below half, all when cold (accoring to manual).

I fill mine up over the centreline of the crankshaft. Mind you on an '09 that may take a lot of oil and cause a few other problems! :lol:

cheers nick,,i put the recomended amount in but now only showing bottom of glass but it was its 1st change...must of gone somewhere !!
