oil filter for 1996 fc600?

howdy ya'll I've been on ever Web site, check every store I can seem to find a cartridge filter anywhere.
when I bought the bike all it had was the washable steel mesh filter, is that the only filter for this bike?
also k&n website says they have a filter for all four strokes in the year 1996 with the number kn-155.
had it ordered but it's far to big to fit my stead.
any help would certainly not go unnoticed.

oh yeah my question is. do they make a cartridge filter for this bike and where do I buy one???
I prefer to buy in canada first for shipping cost and speed, but I'll go into international waters if I have to

For a '96 FC600, not only is there no oil filter, but there is no oil pump either. The only filtration is from the "screen" that you're referring to as "washable". That screen is in place to discourage larger parts - nuts, bolts, boulders, cats - from entering the transmission.

Change your oil very often on that one. I have 2 FC600 engines in the vintage of '96 and a '95 FE501. They're wonderfully simple.

lol okay thanks, I've always said a good cat is a dead cat.
but it's no wonder my searches turned up futile!
having split the bottem end I realized quickly there was no oil pump, but I thought it had some fancy Swedish crank shaft pump effect haha.
ahh man my days of a 20 min top end two stroke rebuild are over.
