Well my foot has been feeling a little better lately so I decided to do some of my own physio therapy by going for a ride this evening, youknow using foot muscles by shifting up and down, good exercise I think.
Finished small ride, only went 20 km, got back to garage, start looking around bike, and noticed oil leaking from many spots. looks like possibly head gasket, dry above wet at gasket and below. Also engine case under engine, all wet even dripping all over frame and sprayed back. Some oil pooled on top of crank case, dry around starter. Then even quite wet around the damn water pump.
Sure hope that warrenty will cover this bought bike NEW middle of January.
Bike is 05 FS 650e, only 5.1 hours on it now. Going to see dealer tomorrow. Wish me luck gentlemen.

Its very possible that the tappet cover gaskets are leaking and drooling over the engine. Your bike did sit for a while and they likely dried out. Warranty will certainly cover it, so don't sweat it, and very sorry to have stained your garage floor.

inspect the rocker cover to frame breather , a loose clamp or a crack in the rubber will cause the problem you describe.

Not pissed off , just sad bacause I wish that it had leaked on my last ride a month ago before I broke my foot so that it could have been in the shop while I was healing instead of now when Im feeling good and the weather is so nice now. Could possibly be tappet covers but it sure looked very dry on the top section of engine, will look closer tommorow.

Thanks for the apollogy about the garage floor there Fry, maybe the oil is just the Bergs way of marking its territory!
